Jobdeals, a site that matches users up with service providers (like tutors, plumbers, painters, personal trainers, chefs, psychics, housekeepers and everything in between!), was launched in Canada in June 2010.
This local service marketplace is Canada's first of its kind ... Think of it like eBay® for local services - you post what you need done, and local service providers bid on your job. Jobdeals.com shows you price quotes and profiles of people interested in doing your job, and allows you to book an appointment with them online, saving you the time and hassle of calling around.
Jobdeals helps you get the job done at the time and place you want, at the best price possible!
From what I've seen it's easy to use ... You type in your location and service needed, and Jobdeals finds a local provider that'll best address the job.
Even better, it retrieves an actual quote from the business it recommends: not an estimated quote, or a base quote, but an actual quote from the business, directly responding to your inquiry. The service then lets you book an appointment right from the site, like OpenTable, and it's all free to the consumer (Jobdeals takes 10% off the top from the service provider).
If you're a service provider, Jobdeals provides a place for people to find the best service providers in their area. The provider gets a free profile they can use to promote their service. They also get social sharing features for Facebook and Twitter!
